> Filmmaker Gore Verbinski enters the animate realm with this strangely enticing concept. A fish-out-of-water Western isn’t exactly original, but one starring a cast of reptiles makes things interesting. Also noteworthy is the use of Mumford & Sons in the background, which I hope isn’t in the film, but it works well here. Ideally the soundtrack will avoid the clichéd “Semi-obligatory musical interludes” starring the latest pop sensations and/or classic rock songs everybody knows.

The Adjustment Bureau

Screenwriter George Nolfi, best known for his work on The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean’s Twelve, makes his directorial debut here. And I have to be honest; I’ve seen it all before. Brazil, Dark City, 1984, and countless other stories explore the themes this trailer is conveying. That said, there might still be enough water in this well for a decent film.

Take me Home Tonight

Coming of age nostalgic teen comedy, or copy of just about every other coming of age nostalgic teen comedy? What makes the difference is having something genuinely new to say about all these familiar characters, or of growing up in general. Until I see it for myself, and based on just the trailer, I’d say this is going to be a disappointment for those seeking fun and escapism.
